“The HUMMINGBIRD open mic gave me the opportunity to play my music with a live band for the first time, in front of an exceptionally loving and supportive community. It was truly an experience I will never forget.”  Hummingbird performer, Liam Benayon

In 2015, LIL SIS began hosting Hummingbird, a youth and community focused open mic in Regent Park. Since then, They have hosted over 40 open mics featuring dozens of Toronto artists and musicians.

House, hip-hop, rap, jazz, pop, r&b, rock, poetry, and beyond – Hummingbird provides the opportunity to perform unaccompanied or with a live band. All levels of experience and genres have been and continue to be welcome, especially for first timers.

Hummingbird exists as both a performance opportunity and a community hub in which creatives from every level of experience in and out of the music industry can commune together in a space made and meant for them.
